Primary responsibilities for this position include refining existing coding policies and procedures, overseeing Coding Quality Assurance and Training, and providing documentation education to physician groups and clients. Other responsibilities include identifying, investigating and resolving compliance issues related to the coding of Physician charts and billing/reimbursement for services. In addition, the Coding Compliance Officer will coordinate audit activities including working with Federal & State agencies. This person will work closely with Senior Management including the Corporate Compliance Officer. The right individual will have extensive knowledge and experience in the ED medical field and a strong grasp of ED Coding. Knowledge of Medicare regulations as they pertain to Emergency Medicine Physician Billing is also a strong preference, ED physician preferred. Requires excellent presentation, organization, and communication skills in stressful situations. Moderate travel will be required.
